Flower Discoveries: Inspiration and Magic

We are always looking for inspiration in flowers and life. If you are, too, be sure you hop over on Instagram to follow @jamiebeck.co. She is an artist and photographer whose feed evokes a sense of peace and carries an aura of Jane Austen—full of magic and class!

When you’re done taking all of that in, you can read about more magic at National Geographic when a never-before-documented flower blooms on one of the world’s rarest trees! This world is full of beauty and fascination—both in nature and in people. Keep looking for it and keep being that beauty to the world around you.

Special Guest: Fiona Pickles of Fiona Pickles Floral

After many years, Fiona has left the wedding world and moved back toward her first love—the garden. Tune in to hear her beautifully paint a picture of how the garden can influence your creative process for the better. She is constantly searching for lovely things in her day-to-day life, and this impacts her design greatly! She often tells her clients:

“I can’t tell you what it’s going to look like until it’s made.”

So what does the design process look like after this initial client briefing? Fiona is sharing with us the ins and outs of her communication with her clients as well as how she allows the flowers and her creativity lead her design.

Fiona is an artist and world-renowned floral designer, known for her dramatic and natural designs and installations for Fiona Pickles Floral. Growing many of her own flowers in her Yorkshire hillside garden in the UK, she delights in the movement that garden-grown flowers bring. Her work informs the way she gardens and the way she gardens informs her work.

Fiona teaches her art around the world and offers private tuition from her home and garden, both of which have been featured in Design Sponge and The English Garden Magazine respectively. She is also a part of a new podcast @the.restlesscreatives! Give her a follow there or @fionapicklesfloral.
