This week in the team’s Flower Discoveries, Janine is sharing some helpful tips she learned in Community from Team Flower Member Meredith Cooper on working with gardenias. You’ll hear advice on every step—from choosing your blooms to keeping them alive, and everything in between!
Then, Meagan is telling us all about the “Picture This” flower/plant identification app! You can upload a photo of a plant or flower you’re unsure of, and the app will give you the name of the plant as well as tips on care, growing conditions, and potential diseases.
Special Guest: Ace Berry AIFD
This week, Ace Berry joins Kelly on the podcast to talk all about sympathy work.
Ace runs a flower shop in Fulshear, Texas, and funeral arrangements are his bread and butter!
Ace is sharing tips on interacting with sympathy work clients as well as some key points for creating these types of arrangements.
Changing your perspective on sympathy work impacts how you design. Don’t miss this episode. People need flowers—especially in times of grief—and you could be the one to create meaningful arrangements for them.
Ace Berry began his floral career in 2007 after being laid off from the oil field. By 2019, he was named Texas Designer of the Year, and by 2020, he was featured on HBOMax’s Full Bloom series and was a finalist for the first season. He purchased a small, failing flower shop in Fulshear, Texas, in 2016, and—through his talent and grit—within five years, turned it around into the premier flower shop in the area. His goal? To inspire others to love and enjoy flowers as much as he does. Ace is a member of AIFD, has one the Texas Designer of the Year award, and was inducted into Professional Floral Communicators International through the Society of American Florists.
