Laura Helm is the owner of Ashton Events, a full-service event planning, design, and floral company. After graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Public Relations with a Special Events emphasis, she found herself leaving her home state and following her oldest brother and his half-pint wife to Lakeland, Florida. She quickly fell in love with its local charm, character-filled homes, and gracious community. After only six months of working in the corporate world of events, she found herself longing for something more creative. She opened Ashton Events in 2010 and has been on the wild ride of entrepreneurship ever since, expanding into a new office and floral studio in the fall of 2017. Ashton Events specializes in creating artistic celebrations tailored to their clients' heritage, memories, and futures.
