What Is Florist Software?

Florist software is made up of digital tools, applications, and organizational and management systems that allow you to streamline the operations of your floristry business. Depending on the software’s specific abilities, it can allow you to keep track of proposals, orders, seasonal cut flower availability, accounting, delivery, marketing, and more!

There are many different software applications—some developed specifically for floral professionals and some with a broader reach—that cater to a variety of needs in the events and design industry.

Floral Proposal Software

Floral proposal software helps you build, organize, and manage gorgeous floral design proposals. This type of software is mostly geared to event floral designers and wedding floral pros.

Often, many floral proposal applications also allow you to better manage your customer relationships and client process from start to finish, including receiving payments.

We’ll discuss the following floral proposal software options below, but don’t limit yourself to this list! Find what works best for you.

  • Details Flowers Software

  • True Client Pro

  • Curate

  • HoneyBook

There are several softwares specifically designed for florists, by florists. They are each unique in their offerings.

Details Flowers Software

As a tried-and-true operating system for event florists, Details Flowers helps you manage your client’s journey (including design proposals!) from start to finish. Details was developed by an event designer who knows the ins and outs of what floral pros need to better organize their process.

You can create proposals and orders, beautiful design concept spreads, contracts, and receive payments quickly. There’s even built-in community support and Details University to help you learn how to use the software confidently, swiftly, and easily.

True Client Pro

True Client Pro Event Design Software is expertly developed for event professionals, including wedding and event floral designers. One of the coolest features of this software for event florists is the ability to store and easily modify floral design recipes.

Not only can True Client Pro help you build professional proposals and contract templates that save you time, but it also acts as a start-to-finish event project management software. (More on that later!) You can also communicate with clients through the software and receive payments.

Curate

Curate is event management software that allows you to create gorgeous proposals, accurate floral recipes, and streamlined wholesale orders. It’s another florist software option that provides you and your clients a start-to-finish experience and makes updating and editing proposal templates for client-requested changes easy.

One of the highlighted features for florists includes Curate Rentals, the ability to schedule, manage, and track rented hardgoods for events. That way, you don’t overbook something you need!

HoneyBook

HoneyBook isn’t specifically designed for floral and event professionals, but it is designed to make running a small business as a solopreneur or your freelance work easier.

The software has built-in options to create and send invoices, elegant proposals, and contracts. And you also can receive payment and manage projects within the platform. Bonus: It includes a robust app so you can work via your phone easily when on the run.

Florist POS Software

Florist POS software, or point-of-sale software, helps your floral business keep track of sales and accept payments from customers.

Every floral professional will need a system for accepting and receiving payments, but florist POS software is specifically designed for floral retail, big and small. We’ll discuss the following POS systems below:

  • FloraNext

  • Square

  • Stripe

  • BloomNation

As a floral professional, you will need a system for accepting and receiving payments. Florist POS software is specifically designed for floral retail, big and small.

FloraNext

As a one-stop-shop software option for your flower shop, FloraNext offers a website, florist POS system, and proposal templates. The best part? This software is specifically designed for flower shops, so it caters to the needs of floral industry retail specifically.

Square

While Square isn’t specifically designed for the floral industry, it is designed to be easy to work with…and super mobile. It’s an excellent option for pop-up floral retail shops and mobile retail fronts (like flower trucks and bikes!), and we’ve heard it’s pretty easy to use.

Stripe

Planning to grow big online? If you have goals to run an online shop, including shipping all over the country, you may want to take a look at Stripe, which offers more robust online POS options and data protection.

BloomNation

BloomNation is a specific whole-business solution for flower professionals who sell online, built and run by Promenade. Both the in-store POS and the online e-commerce platform are designed to work together seamlessly, so you’ll have an organized way to manage all your orders both in-person at pop-ups or your retail space and online through your website.

Social Media Marketing Software for Florists

Okay, so who doesn’t want more time off their phone? If you’re running a small business, you know how important social media marketing is, especially for highly visual and experiential offerings like floral design services.

Using social media marketing and planning software can help streamline the sharing of your floral work and set some of your social media responsibilities on autopilot. Some of our favorite social scheduling software include:

  • Planoly

  • Later

  • Planable

Have a suggestion for this list or a favorite app that’s made your digital marketing easier? Talk to us via the chat button on the right!

Planoly

Planoly allows you to visually plan and schedule your social media posts across a variety of platforms. And it has an option to sell your designs via your social media accounts with a single click!

Later

Later is the scheduling app we use here at Team Flower for our social media planning, and it’s great! It’s easy to use, and there’s a free option to get you started.

Planable

Planable is an excellent option if you have a larger team and your social posts go through multiple reviews before they are approved or if you work with a social media marketing agency or team. You can plan months of posts at a time, and reviewing and approving posts is easy.

Which Social Media Is Used for Flower Business?

Instagram is the most widely used for flower businesses, as floral design is visual art! But having a Facebook business page is important as well. (It can help local people find you).

And while Instagram is usually number one for representing your floral design business, consider Tik Tok, too. It’s another opportunity to give others behind-the-scenes visuals into floral work.

No matter what social media platforms you decide to use for your business, remember this: You’re doing good work by loving the world through flowers. Don’t get caught up in comparing yourself to other floral businesses on social media that have been around for years. Everyone starts at the beginning!
