Tablescapes: How to Wow Your Dinner Guests
Looking for exquisite tablescape ideas for yourself or your design clients?
More than ever before, I have found that many of my floral design clients want intimate gatherings done up a notch—especially in their homes. And why not? We spend so much time in our homes, so we should feel free make it feel a little different for special occasions (or everyday!).
In this article, get easy-to-implement insight into creating a dinner table that will impress your guests every time… with only a little effort.
For example: Do you have charger plates, dinnerware, glassware, etc., on hand that you’d like to use? Your dishes are usually an easy first step (except charger plates) because you use them daily. But don’t feel restricted to only what you have at home—if you want to go fancier by renting from your local decor company, you should!
How to Personalize your tablescapes
Why do linens count here? Because of the colors! Colors make you feel a special kind of way. They set up emotions. Is it a sexy date night? Go deep. If it's summer fun, go light and bright.
Another form of personalization is place cards and menu cards. The colors of the menu card play toward your mood—maybe it's light and fun or modern and sleek. This is just another added touch to express to your guests that you are thinking of them.
Tips on Picking Flowers for Tablescapes
There are so many ways to create tablescapes while incorporating fresh flowers: utilizing unique vases, floral foam, mason jars, etc. The list could go on and on.
The question is, what flowers should you buy for your tablescape? Depending on your vessel, your selection becomes unique. Here we have a variety, including hydrangeas, roses, carnations, poms, ranunculus, stock, and fillers. Each place you go will have a different variety—so choose what speaks to you.
Picking flowers that contrast your linen provides your guests with awe-inspiring moments. It causes the flowers to pop! Or you can pick colors that provide accents to the same colors from your linen. Another option could be to use greenery to create a runner along your table.

May your table be filled with decor and love!
