The Importance of a Support Team with Saipua
Flower Discoveries: Unique Flower Farm Business Models
Our friends Sarah and Steve Pabody over at Triple Wren Farms in NW Washington grow big fields of dahlias, help dahlia hybridizers bring their creations to market, sell dahlia tubers online, and offer summer farm you-pick events and workshops at the farm.
They’re hosting a fun event for Mother’s Day! On May 7, 2022, the farm will be open to the public to come and shop hard-to-find dahlia plants, dahlia tubers, potted garden roses, many different annuals, perennials, and more. They’ll also have a sweet gift shop full of perfect garden-focused gifts for Mom (flower candles, new Triple Wren puzzles, books, Triple Wren tea towels, and more!).
So if you’re in the NW Washington area, be sure you snag your ticket today! (Admission for adults is just $10 and children are free!). If you’re loving this idea and want tips on implementing it yourself, shoot Sarah a DM on Instagram @triplewrenfarms—I’m sure she’d love to hear from you!
Special Guest: Sarah Ryhanen of Saipua
Sarah Ryhanen joins us on this episode of the Team Flower Podcast for a thoughtful conversation on embracing failure, delayed gratification, and the importance of a support team.
Sarah has seen much in her years amongst the floral industry and her perspective is a welcome breath of fresh air as she relates her experience and knowledge in a way that is easily digested yet full of tokens for further thought and meditation.
You’ll also hear of her newest endeavor, The Farm at World’s End, and the lovely dreams she has for this incredible venture!
Saipua began in 2006 with a Brooklyn studio devoted to the dual crafts of flower arranging and soap-making (Saipua means “soap” in Finnish, a nod to Sarah's heritage and the tradition of Sauna). Through her floral practice, Sarah has cultivated a distinct aesthetic, inspiring a broad movement in floral design. Saipua's work has adorned weddings worldwide, runway shows, and collaborations with artists and organizations. The Farm at Worlds End, founded in 2011, has become the current headquarters of the Saipua team. Follow along on social @saipua and see what’s available in the shop at saipua.com.
