Video: An Ode to Grass Bouquets

There’s something really simple and sweet about using ingredients that you experience along the side of the road, on a walk, or just along the edge of your driveway. To celebrate these experiences, I’m creating a small meadow bouquet of several types of grasses (dried grasses and fresh) along with a few other types of flowers.

Design a Grass Bouquet that Grounds You In the Moment

I find that when there’s at least one element in my design that connects me to where I am, the time of year, and the season, it helps me think through the whole creative process. Today building this precious grass bouquet isn’t about creating something for a client (though if I like the way it turns out, it could very well be added to my repertoire of offerings!). Rather, it is about experimenting and allowing my creativity to flower uninhibited.

Sometimes the things that we’re drawn to, the flowers we choose, and the arrangements we design freely say a lot about ourselves and the path we’re traveling. We can potentially discover new things about who we are when experimenting. I encourage you to take some time away from the clients, events, and growing to just prepare something that might be used in the future… or enjoyed just for today.
