See this content in the original post

It’s quite a popular trend in the wedding and event industry to have items hanging overhead. Whether it’s hanging flowers in a floral installation, candles, lights, etc., it all seems to add a little bit of magic to the space!

If you’ve never done something like this before, it can be easy to wing it. However, I’ve discovered several tricks and tips specifically for hanging candles that I’d like to share with you!

Tricks to Hanging Candles as Part of Wedding and Event Decor

  1. Try to select a container that is covered on all sides. (Bonus points if there’s a vent at the top!)

  2. Use a thin gauge wire to attach the votive to your apparatus. Fishing line can easily melt from the heat of the candle, and you want to avoid any type of material that is flammable or combustible. The wire will help keep the votive sturdy if there’s wind, and it also acts as an extra security measure for your greenery!

  3. Before you place the candle in the votive, spritz a layer of water to create a barrier between the melted wax and your votive. The water acts as a barrier and makes clean-up so much easier!

  4. You need to keep the distance between the candles and the foliage in mind as you hang each votive. If you hold your hand at the level of your greenery and can feel heat, you need to make an adjustment.
