5 Powerful Ways to Increase Your Brand Awareness
How do you tell people you exist? And how will your audience recognize your brand? Before people buy, they need to feel they trust you. So how do you establish that trust?
Speaking from experience, my biggest (and scariest) challenge as I grew my business was not to keep SORBET Floral Design a secret. It meant that I was exposing my brand, believing in what I had to offer, and trusting myself to deliver the best possible service so I'd have consistent and returning clients.
What will you do to set yourself apart? What actions can you take so that the next time someone thinks about floral arrangements, the first person they think about is you?
Below are five powerful actions you can take to expose your brand to a wider audience and, ultimately, increase your sales:
Get uncomfortable while still making an impact.
For me, that meant giving out a rose tied with my flyers to passerbys and nearby business owners. You could instantly see the individual's face light up when they received a rose, and I made it a point to connect with them and tell them about my business. I'm willing to bet that at least 20% of the people that received a flower will think about my business next time they need an arrangement.
Leverage your current and former networks.
Thankfully, I had friends, family, and co-workers asking me to make arrangements for a family member's birthday, New Year's celebration, or Valentine's Day. Then their friends contacted me, and so on. I made sure I catered to my current community to expand and grow organically. I also maintained good relationships with former co-workers now working in major companies. Tell them you exist; send them an email with your website and examples of your past work. Anything that leaves an impression, so they think of you next time!
Reach out to new members of the community.
I offered free arrangements to influencers in my community, so they post about it and tag my business. I made it a point to research the individual and see what their engagement on social media was like. Another option is to partner with businesses or organizations that have the same values as you do. Your main purpose is to get in front of a new audience and establish good relationships throughout your community.
Brand your business.
Do you use the same colors in every marketing material you use? Can your audience identify your arrangement style? I like to develop this by keeping a word in mind as I create arrangements and channel the energy of that word. Are your arrangements elegant, playful, classical, trendsetters, or wild? This word needs to be aligned with your business's branding, mission, and message.
Post creative, informational, and entertaining content for your audience on social media.
This is where your consistent work in social media comes through. I believe in picking out one platform and posting on it every day, various times a day. It goes hand in hand with leveraging your current network and community. See what the reel and hashtag trends are on Instagram and make your post! Have fun with this and make it the most entertaining you could make it. I make it a point to observe the social handles I'm drawn to the most and adopt tactics to make it my own and create posts, videos, reels, stories, etc.
Focusing on one goal at a time will help expose your business to a new audience. Remember to have fun along the way so you stay on track and not get discouraged and remember that, as it sometimes may be a slower process, it's all about the journey. I can assure you that your consistency will pay off as you grow your business.
