Key Points
When choosing ingredients for a wearable piece, the key is not necessarily the type of flower or greenery; it’s based more on where it is in its life cycle. The older and more established the product is, the longer it will last! You also want to pay attention to the texture of the ingredient—looking for a waxy or leathery feel.
Layering your various greens will give you the same type of depth and interest you would have when making a more complex flower arrangement.
Anytime you’re creating something that will be affixed to the body or clothing, you should keep the weight of your ingredients in mind. The lighter, the better!
Don’t glue everything down flat on the felt. Utilize the floral adhesive to create angles and depth to the piece.
